PEWSEY PRESSURE PAYS OFF IN SECOND HALF
Pewsey conceded two unconverted tries whilst defending against the slope in the first half. They kept the scoreboard ticking over, replying with three penalty goals from the boot of fly half James Haynes.
In the second half Pewsey probed and kicked for position playing in College’s half of the field.
The last twenty minutes was all Pewsey, dominating possession and territory; applying Pewsey pressure in all phases of play. Taking the lead with another Haynes penalty at the end of the third quarter, following up with three tries.
First up was prop Guy Ellis winning a kick back chase to the line, converted by full back Pete Baird.
Next No8 Mike Paddick burrowed over from a 5 metre ruck. Centre Rob Boyd-Wallis finished the day running in from 20 metres out, both unconverted.
By sticking to the task, maintaining their shape and following the game plan Pewsey were deserved winners of this tussle of a match
